At Campanario, in the Osa Peninsula, there were land crabs everywhere during the night. They were beautifully colored and I caught a couple of them consuming fallen, decomposing leaves near a stream, which is of course interesting to me.  They were much more abundant this March than in January.

  1. This one was in the stream adjacent to the building at Campanario (the one you have those cool waterfall pictures from). They were everywhere though; ask Allison about the crab in the bed…

The stream too was much more dry. The large pool that we had to walk around to get to that little waterfall by the station wasn’t even present.
