I didn’t think to grab the bird book when Andre caught it. It’s quite small relative to other pauraque we’ve caught, so I think it’s a juvenile, making the distinguishing characteristics from other Nightjars difficult to pinpoint.

It looks an awful lot like the pauraques Mark identified, but its been a long time since I’ve seen one. How do you catch them, with nets?
